1. Scope and who we are

These Terms of Use govern access to Voxa's public website. By using it you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use the site.

We are Voxa Research Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales with company number 17430382 and registered office at 141 Belgrave Road, Leicester, United Kingdom, LE4 6AS. You can contact us through the Contact page or by post at our registered office.

Voxa Research Ltd is registered with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) as a data controller, registration reference ZC235808. The registration runs from 1 September 2026 to 31 August 2027 (Tier 1).

Some parts of the site are available only to registered users. If you create an account, the Participant Terms or Researcher Terms also apply and take priority over these terms for anything you do through that account. Our privacy notices explain what personal data we collect from visitors.

2. Acceptable use

Several of these could be criminal offences. Where that is the case we may report the matter to law enforcement and give them the information we hold.

The website may not always be available, and we may take down or suspend any part of it without notice.

  • Use the website only for lawful purposes, and do not infringe anyone else's rights.
  • Do not use it to transmit spam or advertising.
  • Do not introduce viruses, malware or other malicious code.
  • Do not probe, disrupt, overload or attack the site, related systems or servers, including by denial-of-service.
  • Do not attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the site, any account, or any infrastructure.
  • Do not scrape protected areas, copy datasets, impersonate another person or submit deceptive information.
  • Do not use our content to build a competing dataset, model or service without our written permission.

3. Our content and intellectual property

The intellectual property rights in the website (its design, software, branding and editorial content) belong to us or to whoever licensed that content to us. You may view public pages and make a reasonable personal or internal-business copy of them. No other licence is granted, and our name and marks may not be used without permission. If you want to make some other use of our content, contact us and we can discuss it.

Some of our content expresses our views on good research practice or our understanding of the law. None of it is legal, medical, financial, ethics or research-methods advice you can rely on. Take professional advice where a decision needs it. We try to keep the site accurate and current, but material may be out of date at any given moment and we may change or correct it without notice.

4. Links

You may link to our public pages in a way that is fair and lawful. You must not link in a way that damages our reputation, suggests an association or endorsement that does not exist, or frames or hotlinks our pages or content on another site. If we ask you to stop linking, stop immediately.

Our site contains links to third-party sites and resources. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, security, availability or privacy practices. A link is not an endorsement. Read the other site's terms and notices before giving it any information.

5. Availability and responsibility

We may change, suspend or withdraw public pages for maintenance, security, legal or business reasons, and we do not promise uninterrupted access.

Nothing here excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected and we remain responsible for foreseeable loss caused by our breach or by our failure to use reasonable care and skill.

Subject to that, access to the website is provided "as is" and at your own risk, terms that might otherwise be implied are excluded to the fullest extent permitted by law, and we have no liability to you in connection with your use of the website, its content, or any unavailability of either. If you are a registered user, our liability to you is determined by the Participant Terms or Researcher Terms as applicable.

6. Changes and governing law

We may revise these terms by posting a revised version with a new effective date. By continuing to use the website you accept the revision.

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Consumers keep the mandatory protections and court rights of their local law. Otherwise the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except that if you are not resident in England or Wales we may bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence, and if you are a public educational institution domiciled in a state of the United States that expressly requires a different governing law or venue, that requirement applies.
